(November 2013)- In collaboration with Korean biodiesel producer M-Energy, Israel-based EnzymoCore has developed and implemented a biodiesel production process using inexpensive brown grease extracted from grease trap and fat, oil and grease (FOG) with EnzymoCore’s IP protected immobilized enzyme to produce 30,000 tonnes per year of ASTM biodiesel. Such feedstock is a great choice with benefits; removal of such toxic organic wastes from the environment. FOG is responsible for 80% of sewer systems overflows, which constitutes a very high cost in removing/cleaning it from wastewater treatment plants. Also, bottom line profit from its conversion to biodiesel.
